Lakeside UFO was my first and only major OpenGL project. I am hoping to learn a lot more about this graphics pipeline after learning about it for over a year.
In this project, I have implemented a quite detailed scene which includes and demonstrates many of my newly-acquired 3D graphics programming skills. I have successfully implemented lighting of various types, attenuation, height maps, animation and a water shader. The water shader especially was heavily assisted by my lecturer, as the level of maths and shader programming would not be possible by me alone. Not in under a year of learning, at least.
Throughout the module, and the development of this project, I have learned the fundamentals of 3D graphics programming and have come to understand how things end up being rendered on the screen. Shader programming especially was the main area of focus, and I have grown to like it quite a bit, and am looking forward to working on this type of projects again.
