This is the largest team project that I have worked on yet. The project consisted of six people - three programmers, two artists and a producer.
The mechanics and general design of the game were decided by the whole team as a collaborative effort, however, each programmer was given the opportunity to prototype and design each individual mechanic they were assigned to do.
As the lead programmer, I have implemented the core systems and code structure that everybody was to follow and expand upon with their own mechanics. Base drone functions, jet drone, all of race settings & initialization and game management were done by me. I was also the sole level designer of the game, and have designed three playable levels of varying complexity in a short span of time.
In this project, I have also managed the team in various ways in order to finish the project on time, to the highest possible quality standard. I have coordinated the artists to deliver the relevant assets into the game on time. I have also distributed the feature workload between the programmers in a logical fashion, so that everybody contributed a large relevant chunk of features.
In my opinion, for the very short span of time given to us, we have developed a fun, playable game. We have implemented most of the major features that we wanted, and they all work well with each other. The only problem is the lack of polish in many areas due to time constraints. Nevertheless, the end product is still playable and the experience that I have gained from this team project will be invaluable to my future.
