It was programmed with C++ using a custom SDL engine provided by the University.
This project was important for a several reasons. Firstly, it was the first C++ game I have ever made, and it has taught me many aspects of programming, and C++ specifically. I have learned many concepts and algorithms with this project, such as pointers, lists, and program structure.
I have developed everything in this game, besides the core functions provided by the engine. The gameplay and art is mine, while the sound and branding is 3rd party. The game was created in about a week of work, and was a gateway for me into more high-level engines such as Unity and Unreal, where I have branched out into next.
I want to re-iterate one more time, I am not affiliated at all with the 'Monster Hunter' brand or its owners/developers/publisher, and the project was used only for educational purposes.
