This was my first unguided project. The only projects I have made before that were made in college, so this was my own venture, created in order to teach me more about programming and game development.
The design of the game was simple - an easy to play, hard-to-master platformer, with a solid level editor. All of the design around this game was conceived with speedrunning in mind. Every mechanic in the game works. The platforming, collectibles, timer system and special objects in the game all work, and the game is quite fun to play. The game was never really intended to be finished, as I had a lot of responsibilities at the time, and I could not dedicate any more time to this project, so it was cancelled. The implementation of everything in the game took around 2 days.
Even though the game was not finished, it was my first venture into game development, so I respect it for what it is. Game Maker Studio too, was a very good teaching tool, albeit a bit of a restrictive commercial game development tool. I would love to create some small games or prototypes in Game Maker, however, as it is very easy to create things quickly in it.
